At CRK-NGO, we believe in transparency, impact, and empowerment. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about our work in Kenya.

About CRK-NGO

CRK-NGO stands for Clinical Research Key Non-Governmental Organization. We are a Kenya-based nonprofit dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes through clinical research, medical training, and community outreach programs.

CRK-NGO is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, but our impact reaches across counties through hospital partnerships, mobile clinics, and rural health systems.

Our mission is to transform healthcare across Kenya and Africa by generating local research evidence, building clinical capacity, and promoting access to high-quality diagnostics and treatment.

We conduct research on local health burdens, train frontline health workers, support public hospitals, and introduce life-saving interventions for neglected diseases, particularly in under-resourced areas.

Yes, CRK-NGO is fully registered under Kenyan law and adheres to both national and international ethical standards for clinical research.

Clinical Research in Kenya

We focus on rare diseases like amyloidosis, cardiac conditions, infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and chronic disease care. Our goal is to uncover gaps in diagnosis and treatment through data.

All projects undergo rigorous ethical review by national IRBs and comply with NACOSTI, the Ministry of Health, and international research ethics standards.

Cardiac Amyloidosis Research in Kenya

Cardiac amyloidosis is a life-threatening condition where misfolded proteins build up in the heart, making it stiff and unable to pump properly. It often mimics regular heart failure but requires different treatment.

Symptoms overlap with common conditions like hypertension. Most hospitals lack the awareness or diagnostic tools to detect amyloidosis early, leading to delayed or missed diagnoses.

We’ve identified a large unmet need in Kenya and Africa. Our goal is to lead the region in research, awareness, and detection of this hidden killer.

Partnerships and Funding

We partner with governments, nonprofits, universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and grant-makers who align with our mission to improve healthcare access in Africa.

They can fund pilots, provide diagnostics, co-design interventions, or scale training programs. We are open to partnerships that align with our ethics and impact goals.

We accept grants, equipment donations, digital tools, and unrestricted or project-specific funding. Every contribution supports impactful healthcare change.
