She has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on international studies funded by the World Health Organization (WHO), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Rockefeller Foundation. Dr. Mwachari earned her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Washington in Seattle, her Master of Science in Medical Microbiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and her PhD in Epidemiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Nairobi. She is also a graduate of the University of Nairobi, where she completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. At CRK-NGO, Dr. Mwachari provides strategic leadership in research design and capacity building. She mentors young scientists and develops partnerships with global institutions. Her vision is to bridge scientific innovation with real-world impact, ensuring underserved communities in Kenya benefit from the latest advances in public health and clinical research.

Research must go beyond academic publications—it should change lives, improve health outcomes, and bring hope to communities that are often left behind. My mission is to ensure that every study we conduct translates into real-world solutions, especially for underserved populations in Kenya and across Africa.
