Director of Regulatory Affairs & Procurement – CRK-NGO
Lydia Eshak Mikhael is a healthcare procurement and regulatory affairs specialist with more than a decade of experience. At CRK-NGO, she directs regulatory oversight and procurement strategies. Her focus is on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality, ensuring that health programs reach underserved communities.
Leadership in Procurement and Pharmacy
She also serves as the Director of Healthcare Procurement at Coptic Mission Hospital in Nairobi, where she manages supply chains for both medical and non-medical items. In this role, she negotiates contracts, streamlines procurement processes, and improves delivery systems. Moreover, she enhances resource allocation to reduce shortages and strengthen hospital operations.
Previously, Lydia worked as a Drug Information Center Specialist at Egypt’s Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Affairs (CAPA). She also contributed as a member of the Scientific Committee for Registration of Non-Reference Drugs at the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). These positions allowed her to expand her expertise in drug safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
Clinical Pharmacy and Hospital Experience
In addition, Lydia served as a Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at the EDA. She implemented clinical pharmacy services in more than 20 hospitals, including Nasser Institute and Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital. Furthermore, she gained frontline patient-care experience as a Hospital Pharmacist at Coptic Mission Hospital and as a Community Pharmacist in Cairo.
Education and Certifications
Lydia earned her MBA in Strategic Management from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, graduating with honors. She also completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) at Ahram Canadian University, again with honors.
She strengthened her expertise with certifications in Evaluation of Clinical Trials, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Anti-Microbial Resistance, Common Technical Documentation (CTD), and Clinical Pharmacy Trends. As a result, she is highly qualified to manage complex regulatory and procurement initiatives.
Commitment to Service
Beyond her professional career, Lydia volunteers with Coptic Mission Africa. She organizes medical missions, oversees medical supply distribution, and supports outreach programs in underserved regions. At the same time, she leverages her regulatory and procurement expertise to improve healthcare access for vulnerable populations.
