About CRK-NGO

Leading Healthcare NGO in Kenya

CRK-NGO is a healthcare NGO in Kenya dedicated to improving health outcomes for underserved communities. We are based at St. Mary’s Mission Hospital in Nairobi, next to Kibera, Africa’s largest slum. This location places us at the frontline of healthcare inequities. It also allows us to connect research, training, and healthcare delivery directly to those who need it most.

We focus on cardiovascular research, NCD studies, capacity building for healthcare professionals, and life-saving interventions for children with heart disease.

Our work bridges science and service. Moreover, we ensure that research findings translate into practical solutions for families across Kenya. As a result, communities gain better access to care and stronger health systems.

Partnerships That Strengthen a Healthcare NGO in Kenya

Collaboration is at the heart of CRK-NGO. We work with the Kenya Cardiac Society, KEMRI, KMPDC, and Mayo Clinic Global Bridges, as well as universities and global research networks. Through these partnerships, we ensure that local priorities align with international expertise. Therefore, knowledge flows both ways, from the community to global science and from global science back to the community.

These collaborations ensure that our research is globally credible and locally impactful.

Why CRK-NGO Matters in Kenya

Kenya faces a rising burden of non-communicable diseases. Conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and stroke are increasing, yet access to care remains unequal. Therefore, organizations like CRK-NGO play a vital role.

We ensure that research is not limited to publications but transforms lives. For example, our data informs national guidelines, trains doctors, and shapes better policies. In addition, by working in urban slums and rural Maasai villages, we reach people who are too often left behind.

The Future of a Healthcare NGO in Kenya

Looking ahead, CRK-NGO will expand its digital platforms and research networks. In addition, we plan to build open-access repositories for Kenyan research and strengthen South-to-South collaborations across Africa. Furthermore, we are exploring AI-driven tools to deliver knowledge faster and more effectively. Therefore, the future of healthcare in Kenya depends not just on discovery, but on how quickly that discovery reaches those who need it most.
